Graphical Web Interface

With theGuard! NetworkManager WEB GUI it is possible to access important features from a graphical and Web-based user interface. The WEB GUI is fully integrated into the WEB console. It provides the node manager and the graphical map visualization.

The following functions are available:

  • graphical and hierarchical map visualization
  • node manager
  • current status information (log)
  • element management
  • performance management
  • service level management

Hierarchical Map

An end-to-end graphical user interface allows administrators to obtain a structured graphical representation of their network (network map). Similar to a circuit diagram, it visualizes components and network paths. It is up to the users to define how to display the components they are in charge of.

Node Manager

The node manager is a tool for the management of all node-specific configuration data. As opposed to a map, it presents information in table form thus allowing for sorting and filtering. From here, users can access all node and status information and adjust any node-specific configurations and settings. New devices are automatically detected through the discovery server or can be added manually.

Element Management

In order to facilitate configuration and performance analyses of network components users can turn to a graphical representation of the device. All modules and connections are visualized and LEDs display the current status. Through this, users can control all key functions and configure the device.

Performance Management

All data can be graphically represented through preconfigured statistics templates. This can be realized throughout selected timeframes or individual nodes or entire groups that can be configured according to user requirements. Display options consist of line or bar charts which visualize data history.

Representative top lists

The TopN feature is an alternative form of visualization which quickly provides answers to the following questions:

  • Where are uplinks working to fullest capacity?
  • How much data is transferred through which connections?
  • Where are the longest response times?

Service level management

The reliability of network components is vital to the availability of the entire network infrastructure. The availability of key components such as routers or servers can be specifically determined and analyzed over the long term. This is realized online through the WEB console or through automatically generatable PDF reports. Both functions include a summarizing analysis (in percent) of all involved components according to their respective weighting.
