InterfaceManager IM/3 v3.0

Version 3.0 of InterfaceManager IM/3, the comfortable EAI solution for SAP-centered system landscapes, is now available. The latest version includes many functional enhancements which allow for an even more flexible use of IM/3:

Highlights of IM/3 Version 3.0:

Object Monitoring

In addition to the chronological monitoring of complex process chains, a detailed examination on the data object level is now possible, too. This gives customers enhanced control over data exchanges between SAP and non-SAP systems. User-independent selection and analysis of objects is possible.

SAP XI Connectivity

IM/3 now features a standardized adapter for the SAP Exchange Infrastructure (SAP XI), allowing for the integration even of non-XI-capable front-end applications with modern SAP NetWeaver architectures. Here, IM/3’s reliable monitoring and its comfortable error correction capabilities will of course remain unchanged.

B2B Adapter

As an alternative to a direct ALE connection, applications can now exchange its IDOCs with SAP through IM/3. The great advantage of this solution is that in addition to the technological integration, IM/3 maps the business process as well while including a comfortable correction interface. Through this, a consistent synchronization of processes on both sides is guaranteed.

FTP Port

The FTP port ensures uninterrupted communication of the file transfer between application servers. Consequently, the file transfer is included in monitoring activities and process control.

Online Connection

The next generation of IM/3 Xchange allows for an even more detailed monitoring of subprocesses and offers various forms of escalation in the event of an error.

UNICODE

As of version 3.0, IM/3 can be deployed in multi-language SAP system landscapes.

This is just a brief overview of the latest features of the IM/3 version 3.0. Please find more details in our release notes at

InterfaceManager IM/3 v2.4 available

The InterfaceManager IM/3, the comfortable and easy to implement EAI solution for SAP centric system landscapes, is now available as release 2.4. The new version includes lots of new functional enhancements that make interfacing with IM/3 even more flexible than before.

In the development environment you can now rely on new analysis functionalities that discover external data structures. The automatic detection of function module parameters has been enhanced widely. Furthermore, it is now possible to assign external documentation (e.g. Word-files) to dedicated IM/3 interfaces.

The runtime environment offers an integrated workflow management with release 2.4 and builds up a direct integration into theGuard! System Management Suite by exchanging performance data for interface runs. The comfortable data exchange via LDAP is also possible with IM/3 now.

This is only a brief outlook on the improvements of IM/3 release 2.4. Further details can be obtained from our support site: support.realtech.com

InterfaceManager IM/3 v2.3 will be soon available

The next version of IM/3 will be available with the following new features:

Remote Monitoring
Implementation of a client and system spreading interface monitoring, control and administration. Remote processing and reprocessing of interfaces, even with version IM/3 2.2 can be integrated. Different time zones between various systems are considered.

Modification of data for reprocessing
Displaying the prepared data stored for reprocessing in the appropriate structure. With the possibility of modifying erroneous data before starting the reprocess attempt.

Statistical run time data -WEB reporting
In addition to the presentation of the individual run time data of an Interface, many statistical data can be viewed. These data can be accessed by a Web reporting tool or printed in customisable combinations.

New data formats (XML, delimiters)
IM/3 can now read and write data in XML format and also work with variable field lengths using field delimiters.

Conversion tables
In addition to the known types of conversions, data conversion rules can now be defined by the use of value tables.

Record Structures can now also be synchronized from external table/files
Record Structures can now also be synchronized from external files or from the R/3 data transfer repository (DX workbench). The synchronization of the Record Structure with the appropriate fields will create the structure and all needed PS-data elements.

Support of the CCMS-Monitor (RZ20)
Alerts from erroneous or stopped interface runs can now be transferred to the SAP CCMS Monitor. (RZ20)

Interface creation step by step
Now you get assistance for every step while creating the interface with checking the respective status. From each step you can navigate directly into the appropriate application. The development logic is user-dependent configurable.

Freely definable controller ports
The file port of the controller is extended by freely definable port definitions.
This means, the Im/3 Controller co-operates now with all types of ports available in IM/3, not only file ports.

Migration
A collection of migration interfaces (for typical objects of initial data load scenarios) can be purchased and adapted to your own needs.

Internal Selection Tables
When starting outbound interfaces through an API function module out of another program, selection tables can now directly be passed to the IM/3 interface as internal table (avoids data base accesses).

Passing IDocs to Outbound Interfaces
IDocs can now directly be passed to IM/3 outbound interfaces through an EDI-port definition delivered with IM/3.

Parallel Detail Structures
Inbound interface programs can now load more complex objects with multiple detail structures which have to be processed independently. This is especially needed for working with BAPIs in newer R/3 releases.
