REALTECH
AG's technical benchmark was the basis for the strategic consolidation
of TRUMPF's mySAP.com systems. (Jürgen Küchle, TRUMPF GmbH & Co. KG)
The first step of the successful IT project:
The technical feasibility study
How
do the solutions fit in with our IT concept? How can we consolidate our
IT landscape so that we save money on hardware and still have a
high-performance system? These are some of the questions that
companies' ask themselves when they are on the point of installing new
software or improving their current IT infrastructure.
The
requirements are clear: An inexpensive, adaptable and future-proof
software and hardware configuration - or even simpler said: The seamless integration of all of a company's IT processes.
REALTECH
performs technical feasibility studies mainly in the area of technical
consulting to evaluate the performance of SAP systems and their
components. The studies focus mainly on mySAP.com, such as in the case
of the server consolidation study that was just completed at Trumpf
GmbH & Co. KG.
As an international manufacturing company
with ca. 5200 employees and a large number of customers, smooth
communication processes - internal as well as external - are key to the
company's success. Trumpf uses the mySAP.com components mySAP Business
Warehouse (BW), Business-to-Business Procurement (BBP) and Customer
Relationship Management (CRM) to provide its employees, customers and
partners with information.
"The REALTECH study has
enabled us to achieve an optimal orchestration between software and
hardware. In the particularly cost intensive area of hardware, we based
our decision for high-performance and high-availability systems that
leave nothing to be desired in terms of efficiency on REALTECH's study," explains Jürgen Küchle, TRUMPF GmbH & Co. KG (Basis support mySAP components, SAP CCC TRUMPF).
The
feasibility study is the go-ahead for additional projects as well as a
quick but thorough consolidation phase. The upcoming investments in the
IT infrastructure have been secured.
"The combination of
REALTECH's SAP expertise and technological Basis know-how is reflected
in their strategic and future-proof approach to our system landscape,"
explains Jürgen Küchle.
Trumpf and REALTECH will be
working together on another project in the area of application
management. Since July 2000, Trumpf has been successfully using theGuard! ApplicationManagerto manage applications and system components.
