REALTECH at CeBIT 2009

In 2009, REALTECH will once again partner with other companies to exhibit at CeBIT, the world's foremost information technology fair


IT Service Management
Like last year, REALTECH will partner with Pan Dacom Networking AG and share an exhibition booth (hall 13, booth C47). The focus will be on Business Process Management (BPM). REALTECH offers a practical software solution for this particular IT discipline that allows companies to monitor IT-enabled business processes and is suitable for medium-sized businesses.

The Business Process Management module of theGuard! Service Management Center allows companies to match technical performance indicators from their IT infrastructure with the corresponding business processes. Availability and performance messages from the network or the application level are combined by the solution and then displayed in concise dashboards in a process-oriented way, giving IT administrators an at-a-glance overview of how technical problems actually affect business processes.

Powerful system interfaces allow for the integration of commercial process data. This data is retrieved through the connection with existing ERP systems from SAP or other vendors and then combined with a company's own IT infrastructure status data. The objective is to generate business-relevant performance indicators through the comprehensive and complete monitoring of IT-enabled business processes. The corresponding BPM reporting provides extensive data – from service level compliance to detailed information on the performance of individual process building blocks.

At CeBIT, REALTECH will show visitors the latest feature of theGuard! Service Management Center. This newest addition is the "Dependency Walker". Experience shows that a manual and visual analysis on the basis of all process dependencies within an IT system is hardly feasible. The "Dependency Walker" shows dependencies of business processes and the related objects, enabling IT administrators to freely adjust the level of detail using a slider bar. For example, the CPU utilization on the database server could cause slow response times of the application. The aggregation of information accelerates the identification of root causes, allowing for a speedy analysis for change and fault management purposes.

Application Management
REALTECH will present its well-known “Tuning Pack for SAP Solution Manager” at the SAP Partner booth (SAP & Partner booth, hall 4). This software package adds automatisms to the default monitoring functionality of SAP Solution Manager that allows IT departments to achieve maximum efficiency in SAP operation. The seamless connection to SAP CCMS (Computing Center Management System) enables administrators to immediately access system management data of their SAP systems and to integrate it into their alert scenarios. SAP Solution Manager is the central application manager in SAP NetWeaver landscapes and is therefore directly involved in the execution of a large number of different SAP processes.

The development of the "Tuning Pack for SAP Solution Manager" was REALTECH's response to one of the latest trends in the field of SAP. Customer interviews revealed that more and more companies were asking for ways to add functionality to their SAP Solution Manager in order to optimize the application management of their SAP applications. Due to the current demand for this solution, SAP Solution Manager issues will be among the central themes at REALTECH's SAP partner booth.
