Walldorf, April 3, 2007 - With its latest release 5.1 of its TransportManager, REALTECH AG offers SAP customers the possibility to, for the first time, synchronously distribute ABAP and Java objects that are logically interdependent in a SAP NetWeaver system landscape.
The introduction of SAP NetWeaver results in a higher degree of heterogeneity of SAP landscapes which in turn increases the need for communication between ABAP and Java application processes. This requires a comprehensive and consistent status of all applications. In these networked system landscapes, which are comprised of test systems, quality systems and productive systems, the required synchronization of ABAP and Java changes could only be guaranteed through extraordinary organizational efforts. The risks arising from this highly error-prone manual method are now permanently, automatically and safely eliminated with the latest release of the REALTECH TransportManager.
This guarantees the simultaneous import of Java-based SAP portal elements for the visualization of certain data and of the corresponding APAB building blocks of the ERP system for the procurement of these data into the appropriate productive environment. By defining predecessor/successor relationships or companion relationships between ABAP and Java transports, synchronization can be guaranteed even if different organizational structures are in charge of the approval process in both areas.
Thanks to the fact that the product can be easily integrated into existing SAP landscapes, customers can now benefit from its main features without great effort even in the world of Java: the safe and controlled distribution of changes for the avoidance of collisions and version mismatches.
The new solution is based on the One Transport Order (OTO) concept introduced by SAP for SAP NetWeaver 2004s that consolidates and harmonizes former stand-alone solutions in the field of software logistics
